Born in Morristown, Christopher P. (Chris) Capps attended public schools in the area before pursuing a Bachelor Of Arts degree at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, for two years.
After transferring to the University of Tennessee, Chris received his degree in Political Science in 1980. Admitted to practice in 1983 after receiving his law degree from the University of Tennessee’s College of Law, he generally focuses on litigating family law, probate and personal injury law. Chris also handles real property and construction law issues litigation. He is licensed to practice in all courts in the State of Tennessee and is a Rule 31 certified mediator by the Tennessee Supreme Court.
David S. Byrd was born and raised in Jefferson County and attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, graduating cum laude in 1991.
After obtaining his law degree from the University Of Tennessee’s College Of Law in 1994, David joined Capps & Byrd LLP as an associate and was named a partner in 1999. He focuses on civil trial litigation, family law and collections. He is licensed to practice in all courts in the State of Tennessee.
